We don't have a south facing roof, can we still benefit from Solar?
In most cases yes; the sun rises in the East and sets in the West. Solar panels can be installed anywhere along the path of the sun and still work efficiently. Roofs with a Northerly orientation, however, are not suitable for a solar installation. Complete our online property survey to discuss your best options with a member of our team.
Do Solar Collectors work when it's cloudy?
Yes, of course. Even under cloud-cover, the collectors will pick up enough Solar Radiation to convert into Heat.
What are the environmental benefits of Solar Hot Water?
Solar is a green, renewable system and doesn’t release any harmful carbon Dioxide or other pollutants. Reducing your carbon footprint ensures that the planet is protected for future generations to enjoy.
Is there enough sun to benefit having a solar system where we live?
Yes, here in the UK we receive 60% of the Solar Radiation of that found on the equator so why not take advantage of this free resource to reduce your heating bills.
How much hot water will the system generate?
This will depend on what system is installed but rest assured that your new system will be designed to meet your complete hot water needs.

Do Solar systems take long to install?
No, with average or typical systems we’re normally able to have you up and running with your new system within a day or two; we might occasionally need to extend the installation time, or for larger installations, three or four days at the very maximum.
Can you fix Solar panels to a flat roof?
Yes, of course, flat roof mounting frames are available should we need to site panels on flat roofs. The frame allows the panel to be positioned at a 30˚ angle to assist with solar radiation collection.
Will we need a boiler replacement for a solar hot water system to work properly?
We do not normally not need to replace your current boiler as the system will work in conjunction with an existing boiler. If a replacement was required, it would be picked up on the initial survey and you would be made aware from the outset.
I have a combi-boiler, does this make a difference?
Combi-boilers are slightly different. In order to get the maximum benefits of Solar Power you would in most cases, need to install a hot water cylinder. Don’t worry though, we’re able to use loft or other available spaces to install your new hot water cylinder and ensure integration.

Would we ever need to clean the Solar Hot Water panels?
The panels we install are designed to be self cleaning to ensure a maintenance free solution.
Can I expand the system if my family size increases?
Yes, we’ll advise on the number of panels you require and if any additional panels are needed later down the line we can add extra panels to accommodate. In most cases, additional panels are all you need but sometimes we might need to increase the size of your hot water cylinder.
